This Mum Won Parenting by Re-creating Hogwarts with Lego
400,000 bricks, goodness knows how many hours and far too much floor space.
Sorry, mums, dads, guardians - you can all go home now. Call it a day. Because THIS lady has just spent a large chunk of her time making Harry Potter come to life for her sons, which pretty much makes her the best parent ever.
Featuring over 400,000 bricks and taking her over five years, Seattle mum-of-two Alice Finch has built an incredibly detailed Hogwarts castle, depicting key scenes from J.K. Rowling’s timeless novels of magic and adventure.
She has won two lego-building prizes for the model, and has taken to flickr to share her wizardry with the world. Here are our faves:
Potions class!! Complete with Snape!
The Great Hall. Standard.
Slytherin common room...spooooky!
Oh yeah, and did we mention it lights up at night? Yeah. It lights up at night.
As for whether or not someone will be enacting the Battle of Hogwarts or perhaps a Godzilla attack on the model any time soon, Alice says her boys still love playing with the castle far too much to contemplate taking it down!
