Do You Agree Australian Streets Need This Too?
This will change your shopping experience!
Imagine this. You’re just trying to get some shopping done, and you’ve got a limited amount of time to do it in. But then horror of horrors – you get stuck behind a slow walker who seems completely unaware of anyone else around them.
Well one British town is tackling this problem head on by introducing fast pedestrian lanes.
Liverpool has added fast lanes to the city’s St John Street which will let walkers race through the crowds and get where they need to go faster. This is in response to research that finds 47% of people in Britain find slow walking the most annoying aspect of shopping.
The research was conducted by Argos, and they found that fast lanes were most popular with young people. 69% of 16 to 24 year olds were in favour of fast lanes, while only 37% of people over 55 liked the idea.
This has got us thinking – would you like to see this happen in Australia? Let us know in the comments!
