Woman Claims ‘Frozen’ Is Based On Her Life & Sues Disney
A woman who claims that hit animated kid’s movie Frozen is about her life is now suing Disney.
Isabella Tanikumi says the movie has similarities to her 2010 autobiography about growing up in the Andean Mountains of Peru and has sued Disney for $250 million, TMZ reports.
Frozen is the highest grossing animated film of all time (earning $1.2 billion globally and with a sequel on the way) and is said to be based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale, The Snow Queen.
However, Tanikumi is convinced Disney stole the idea from her book Yearnings of the Heart, despite the hit flick featuring talking snowmen, trolls and a princess who turns anything she touches into ice.
According to the synopsis, Yearnings of the Heart is a “compelling, introspective account of the life of Isabella Tanikumi, who takes her readers on a journey through various phases of her remarkable life - from her family’s survival during the devastating earthquake of 1970 in Huaraz, Peru, to the trials of overcoming heartbreaks of her youth. Conquering personal insecurities led to exploring the reaches of her intellect while facing the tragic, and untimely death of her beloved sister Laura.”
As convincing as her story is, we just think she should Let It Go… sorry, we couldn’t help ourselves.
Ok you might want to sit down for this one… Disney has revealed that a sequel to Frozen is in the works!
We’ve all grown up watching Disney movies… but did you know that some of your favourite characters have actually appeared in other Disney movies?
Most parents are likely to pull their hair out if they hear their kid sing another song from Disney’s Frozen… or in this mother’s case, laugh hysterically and be told off for it.
