Taylor Swift Releases Preview Of ‘Welcome To New York’
Taylor Swift is singing about a new kind of love affair in her new single… one with New York City.
Taylor has just released a preview of Welcome To New York, the latest track from her new album 1989, and she told Good Morning America about her inspiration behind the sure-to-be hit.
"I wanted to start the album with this song because New York has been an important landscape and location for the story of my life in the last couple of years," she explained.
"I dreamt about moving to New York. I obsessed about moving to New York and then I did it," adding that NYC is an "electric city."
The 24-year-old pop star bought a $19.9 million penthouse in Tribeca earlier in the year and she’s been trying to convince BFF Selena Gomez to make the move ever since.
"Taylor has been begging me to live there," Selena previously told E! News. "She's like, 'It's the best decision I've ever made.'"
Tay Tay says the inspiration she found in the NYC "is kind of hard to describe and hard to compare to any other force of inspiration I've ever experienced in my life."
"I approached moving there with such wide-eyed optimism and sort of saw it as a place of endless potential and possibilities. You can kind of hear that reflected in this music and this first song especially," she added.
Taylor has even treated fans to the lyrics of the the new track via Twitter.
