If you’ve ever wanted to see what the voice of Siri really looks like, tonight is your chance.

Because the lady who voices Siri across Apple devices in Australia will be singing at Carols by Candlelight!

Karen Jacobsen is also known as The GPS Girl, and although she’s been singing and performing for her whole life she got her start in the world of technological voices in 2002. While living in the US she was asked to audition for a client who was looking for a voice over artist with a natural Australian accent. She soon found herself as the Australian “voice” of the text-to-speech system used in GPS devices by Garmin, Navman, TomTom and more.

But her highest honour is of course taking on the role of Siri in Australia. When you have a question for Siri, it is Karen who answers you.

She’ll be performing at Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight, which will air on Channel 9 tonight. The event is held at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

Karen recently released a Christmas album called Destination Christmas, her ninth album on her independent label Kurly Queen.
