It might come as a surprise, but Katy Perry is the Dark Horse, topping the 2015 Forbes ranking of the highest-paid musicians on the planet!
Thanks to her Prismatic world tour which earned her more than $2 million per city, Perry has made a whopping US$135 million (AU $187 million) in the last 12 months.
It’s been a good year for the ‘California Gurls’ singer, also placing number three in Forbes’ Celebrity 100 list after she stole to top spot in Forbes’ list of the World’s Highest-Paid Women in Music for 2015.
Following closely behind the music rankings with a cool US$130 million (AU$180 million) is none other than British boy band One Direction and country music singer Garth Brooks with US $90million (AU$125 million) rounding out the top three.
But what about Taylor Swift?!
Don’t worry, Swifty and her boyfriend Calvin Harris are doing very well in the financial department.
The power couple both made it into the top 10, taking out the number four and six spots.
Almost all the musicians on the list earned a massive chunk of change from their non-musical endorsements. Perry for example has deals with Claire’s, Covergirl and Coty whereas Swift is the face of multiple campaigns including Keds and Diet Coke.
