Australia Will Be Competing In Eurovision 2015

Who should represent us?

Singing grandmothers, bearded beauty queens and the weirdest, wackiest costumes you could ever imagine – Eurovision is the world’s biggest party and now Australia’s invited!

Julia Zemiro confirmed this morning that Australia will be competing in the Eurovision Song Contest this yea  – and we’ll be able to vote!

“This year as Australia is an official competitor, the Australian public will be eligible to vote in the contest for the very first time,” reads the announcement from SBS.

This is a one-off wild card entry in the final stage of the competition, according to the Eurovision website.

But who will represent us?

While the Twittersphere are sure to have plenty of ideas our representative will be announced soon.

“This, along with a preselected Australian jury, will help determine the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest winner.”

SBS are yet to release details of Australia’s pick to perform but say “our song and artist will be revealed very shortly”.

Oh and as for the fact that we’re not in Europe? Trivial mate. Trivial.

Eurovision will air on SBS Wednesday, May 20 until Sunday, May 24 this year.
