Why Are Justin Bieber And Usher Headed To Court?
The Hotties Are In The Hot Seat!
Justin Bieber and Usher were sued last year for their song “Somebody To Love” and now a judge has ruled that the two make have ripped off another artist.
The two collaborated on the hit back in 2010 and it was a huge success. The music video alone has had over 305m views on YouTube already. A man named Devin Copeland, AKA De Rico and his songwriting partner Mareio Overton claim that the pair ripped off their 2008 hit with the same name.
De Rico and Mareio had the case thrown out of court last year; however, in they have now taken it to the federal appeals court who has concluded that the Justin and Usher song have an “almost identical rhythm and strikingly similar melody.” The case now goes back for a full-blown trial. Yikes.
Check out the audio clips that De Rico and Mareio claim sound alike and tell us what you think? Would you bust the Biebs or throw it out of court?
