iPhone iOS8 Users Fall For 4Chan Hoax
It happened last year when new iPhone 5 users were duped into believing that their new shiny accessory was waterproof.
Now internet pranksters 4Chan have struck again.
The 4Chan community created an Apple branded advert and begun to circulate it on social media which claimed iOS8 (Apple's new operating system) was so advanced that you could "wave charge your device by placing it within a household microwave for a minute and a half."
In the fake advert (above) it also warned users not to "wave-charge" for longer than 300 seconds.
Derek Rodriguez on Twitter: "#iOS8 #WaveCharge http://t.co/XLeqvSByM2"
Think people wouldn't be silly enough to fall for this hoax? Think again.
And yesterdays "bend-gate" has now sparked 4Chan to create this fake advert that is currently doing the rounds on social media sites.
Derek Rodriguez on Twitter: "Better than #WaveCharge! #Bend #iBend http://t.co/M95Weo17Q9"
So the moral of the story is don't believe everything you read online, don't microwave your iPhone and don't bend it either.
But do watch out for those unicorns that jump out of your new iPhone when you go out this weekend.
