These Are The Horrible And Embarrassing Passwords That People Used In 2014
Online security is becoming more and more important, especially after recent attacks on Sony, Snapchat and Apple's iCloud where hundreds of celebrity nude photos were leaked onto the internet.
But according to online security experts SplashData, some people are just not getting the message on how critical it is to make sure that your personal accounts are protected.
From the more than three million passwords that were leaked onto the net in 2014, it appears that we're back in 2003.
Here's the top 25 (and if any of your passwords are listed, then here's a virtual slap!)
In 2013, 'password' topped the list so we've made some progress there.
But there is still a major issue where some people aren't being creative with their password of choice. It's quite easy to think of different and more complex logins, such as using numbers alongside letters both upper and lower case, and then you can even add a special character.
Take the word 'password'. You could add some effort and make it pA55w0rD which would make it a little harder to crack for a skilled hacker. Or you could also use password management software (which is baked into Chrome, Safari and Firefox web browsers).
Remember, trustno1... especially not that password!
