Facebook Will Tell You If The Government Is Trying To Hack Your Account
It's not only spammers we have to worry about hacking our accounts now, it's the watchful eye of the government as well.
Facebook has announced that it will send you this warning if it detects your account being targeted or monitored by a nation-state or a state-sponsored actor.
"While we have always taken steps to secure accounts that we believe to have been compromised, we decided to show this additional warning if we have a strong suspicion that an attack could be government -sponsored.
"We do this because these types of attacks tend to be more advanced and dangerous than others, and we strongly encourage affected people to take the actions necessary to secure all of their online accounts," Facebook's Chief Security Officer wrote.
Under 'Login Approvals' shown in the above warning message, you should enable two-factor authentication. Facebook also suggests rebuilding or replacing your computer system if you receive the message, as it's probably infected by malware.
Make sure you keep an eye out for this warning!
