Smartphones Are Going To Die Out In 5 Years
What will replace them?
How much time do you spend on your smartphone each day? An hour? Two hours? Or does it barely even leave your hand?
It might be time to start learning to live without it, because a new study by Swedish telecom company Ericsson says that the days of smartphone dominance could come to an end sooner than we think!
They surveyed 100,000 people in Sweden and 39 other countries and found that a lot of people think smartphones will be completely replaced by artificially intelligent devices that don’t need screens.
And this change is predicted to happen within the next five yeras.
“A smartphone in the hand, it’s really not that practical,” said Rebecka Cedering Ångström from Ericsson ConsumerLab.
“For example, not when one is driving a car or cooking. And there are many situations where display screens are not so good. Therefore, one in two think that smartphones will belong to the past within five years.”
“Things just go so fast now from the idea to the mass market. We have not studied the technology, this is just what consumers think.”
