Simpsons Co-Creator Dies At Age 59
Sam Simon, the co-creator of The Simpsons has passed away at age 59.
He died yesterday in his LA home following a long battle with cancer.
Sam was diagnosed in 2012 and has always been public about his terminal disease.
TMZ is reporting that Sam was surrounded by his family when he died, as well as his dog who was very special to him – Sam was a huge animal rights advocate.
The Sam Simon Foundation released a statement to TMZ, “For those of us who knew him, his voice will forever echo in our minds; his sense of humor will continue to make us laugh; and his compassion and generosity will continue to impact our lives. Sam, you will be missed by many, but there is a particular sadness among our clinic staff. We have been together for so long, and your absence will forever leave a void in our lives.”
Hank Azaria who voiced multiple characters on The Simpsons tweeted his message of condolence too.
Sam revealed not long ago he would be leaving his $100 million fortune to various charity organisations.
