In a recent interview for French radio station NRJ the British singer has excited fans with news of a new single to be released later this year.
But she doused speculation that a new album would follow saying "There will be a new song, probably coming out at the end of the year, if I didn't write my own songs I’d be out next week with a new album, but because I write my own songs I have to take time and live a bit. There was a good two years between my first and second album, so it will be the same this time."
So why a new song and no album? Well rumours are abound that she will be following in the footsteps of other British singers Shirley Bassey, Paul McCartney and Sheena Easton and performing the theme to the new James Bond movie.
Details of the song are pretty thin on the ground but all the evidence adds up to a silhouetted Adele doing a sexy dance to the opening credits. And if the six kilos she has lost since turning vegetarian is anything to go by those opening credits could well be the best part of the film. Speaking to the BBC's Radio 1 she said "I can find another way of getting all the stuff out of meat that you need. I hate that tofu stuff though... It's rank."
Let’s just hope she doesn’t take it too far and keeps a few of those sexy curves.

Some people are born with it and others aren’t and the best are always born with it.
The above statement is backed up by this video of Adele as a young woman jamming with her friends and playing guitar, way before she was famous.
Her distinctive voice is evident even at this early stage and from the minute she opens her mouth you knew she was going to be a star.
She really needs to put the fags down though.

Adele has made her US Vogue cover debut, and this just isn't any issue. It's the spring issue!! Which I am told is a big deal from people who actually know something about fashion.
This follows her massive win at the Grammy's yesterday, so all in all Adele must be one very happy girl right now.
She rocked the cover of the UK edition last September, but in this new US issue she opens up about her relationship with 37-year-old investment banker Simon Konecki & reveals all about how he’s helped her through recent health problems.
"I knew my voice was in trouble and obviously I cried a lot. But crying is really bad for your vocal cords, too!" she said.
"Now I just feel really at peace. And really proud of myself. I’ve never fully appreciated the things that I’ve achieved until now. In fact, my entire life has changed in the last ten weeks. I’ve never been so happy, and I love it."
"If I am constantly working, my relationships fail. So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy. And then I don’t know what I’ll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch."
We have always seen Adele as one confident pop star, but she also had this to say about walking red carpets:
"I don’t feel insecure, I just feel like, Oh, I don’t want to do this. I literally get a stomach cramp."
