Who Cares If Britney Lip-Syncs? Posted by Kiki & Sassy 9 November, 2009 - 6:50 AM

Seems like we can't have a week without Britney drama! The latest rumours are all about lip-syncing, but honestly, we just don't care.

Everyone's talking about how 'allegedly' Britney doesn't sing live in her Circus tour. The Daily Telegraph says fans stormed out of her show in Perth over the weekend because she wasn't singing live and they felt like they wasted their money.

The Burwsood Dome in Perth, where she performed, said it was a hit and Britney brought in the biggest audience EVER in Perth, even bigger than Pink.

Even the NSW Minister for Fair Trading, Virginia Judge, got involved, saying "let's be clear - live means live. If you are spending up to $200 Australian dollars, I think you deserve better than a film clip."

First of all, don't Members of Parliament have more important stuff to do than talk about Britney? Seriously, go and sort out dodgy mortgage-lenders or something.

But more importantly, who cares if Britney lip-syncs? Be honest: did anyone really expect her to sing live?

We are talking about the same Britney, right?

I think we've all known she doesn't sing live since ... um, since the first time she ever got on a stage. It's blatantly obvious! Mainly, because the vocal track sounds the same every time she gets on stage.

If anyone paid $200 thinking they were about to see Britney Spears amaze the crowd with her live vocal prowess like Beyonce, then they kinda deserve to be disappointed, cause that's just crazy. You don't go and see Britney for her singing. That would be like going to see John Mayer for his dancing.

You go see her cause she's BRITNEY. She's an incredibly famous, unstable, dramatic, scandal-prone drama-queen icon. You go see her to gawk at the Britney freak show, to watch her dancers dance, and to see what fierce costumes she dresses in.

So tell us - are you going to see Britney on tour? Do you really think she'll sing live? And do you even want her to?

I love Britney. She's an amazing performer, who cares if she doesn't sing live...dancing is a talent too.

    Exactly.

I don't know what they were expecting - you'd think for $200 - let alone $1500 for VIP tix - they'd do a little 'background check' on, i dont know, who britney spears is?

I thought it was common knowledge that she's been lip syncing since she was 17, so i dont know why they thought this would be any different.

I love Britney - and I knew exactly what I was in for when I forked out $200 for her tickets. I'm going to see the performance of someone who laid a lot of groundwork in today's pop industry. I realise she's not at the top of her game atm, and that her performance wont be as good as it was back in 2004, but, come on - it's Britney.

I think if you pay good money to see a preformer then you want to hear them SING, other wise you can just buy the CD & save your money.

I think its terrible, we dont pay hundreds of dollar to see our favourite act's not to sing, we dont buy there albums to listen to them dance. They should do the right things buy there fans & SING THEIR SONGS!! Its just about how Britany looks on stage.. which is crazy.. we forgot why she got famous!!

Peple need to stop standing up for Britney.

She is a load of crap! If you cant sing live, then dont claim to be a singer!

Maybe if she loves dancing so much she should switch places and be a backup dancer...

Go back to singing lessons Britney!

Brittney who? seriously, a performer entails a little bit more then dancing around a stage and a change of wardrobe. If you are selling yourself as a singer, then that is exactley what she should be doing. Poor Brittney..... and personally I'm tired of hearing about her. Ridiculous amounts of money to pay for someone who I consider to be a fake. Brittney has had more than many opportunities to prove herself within the industry yet once again, a disappointment! Bring back the real artists that know what a performance is all about and that can actually sing whilst doing so! Perhaps a few lessons from performers in a musical could teach Brittney a thing or two.

Friday night was full of colour, glitz and excitement. I purchased 14 tickets in Diamond seating to take our friends and family.
    Britney WHO?
It was like she was doing a warm up without paying customers viewing her.
The level of excitement from Britney was very limited. I have never experienced the lack of interaction with the huge crowds.
