Review
Another fab Homebake!
The Middle East and Paul Dempsey in particular were fantastic! Sia was absolutely amazing and whilst Daniel Merriweather ended on a great note the start was a little disappointing. He opened with The Smiths' original and Mark Ronson produced, "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before" and it seemed they weren't in time till midway through the first verse.
Hilltop Hoods had a huge following and didn't disappoint, playing all the hits and getting the crowd involved.
Jet were awesome, a true Aussie rock band, and Sarah Blasko showed why she won the Best Female Artist ARIA this year.
Highlight
Powderfinger, Powderfinger, Powderfinger! After so many years they are still one of the best local bands live. They played loads of hits so the sing along was massive, it was a perfect way to end a great day!
Lowlight
Waiting all day to see Sarah Blasko and not being able to hear properly when I got there. The distance between stages wasn't enough and Miss Blasko's performanced was a little muffled.

Homebake Festival Dates
Homebake 2009 is creeping up. A day full of festivities and merriment where the proverbial icing is Aussie music and beautiful Sydney its cake.
So if you thought last year was good, this year, its 15th, is going to be a cracker!
Powderfinger, Jet, Hilltop Hoods, Sia, Daniel Merriweather, Midnight Juggernauts, Eskimo Joe (pictured above) and Sarah Blasko lead the charge with loads more including Tumbleweed (original line-up), Closure In Moscow, The Middle East, Short Stack (OMG, OMG, OMG!), Phrase and a special performance by Tim Finn. Also on the bill are festival stalwarts, Hilltop Hoods, who will again show us just why they are the vanguard of Aussie Hip Hop.
Don’t miss one of the best events of the year. A party in the sun with great music, good looking everyone, an excuse to say ‘mate’ and ‘digger’ as much as you like and its right in the middle of the city so no treks out to farms or paddocks a la Splendour or Falls.
Tip: It's an over 18's event so don't forget your ID. Short Stack getting in doesn't mean you can.
When: Sat December 5th
Where: The Domain, Sydney
