Veronicas singer Jess Origliasso has revealed the shocking secret to her sudden weight loss - she's become a vegetarian. Gasp!

The 23-year-old twin had the tabloid magazines foaming at the mouth quicker than you can say 'skinny scandal!' earlier this year when she appeared in public looking very, very slim (pictured here in the new 'Take Me on the Floor' video).

"I'm very happy with my decision to stop eating meat," she told the Sun Herald last weekend. "I guess my body has just detoxed all the crap out and now I'm just really happy and healthy - I have so much more energy, I'm not weighed down by flesh rotting in my stomach."

The singer categorically denied having an eating disorder, explaining she saw a dietician a year ago to help her with the transition.

"I'm happy with myself and I know the truth. I absolutely, in no way, shape or form, have an eating disorder," she confirmed. She does have one chink in her vegetarian armour though - she can't say no to seafood.

"I'm a bit of a slack vegetarian because I still have seafood when I'm in Australia but I don't have any other meat," she said.

In other Veronicas news, the girls have just announced they'll be supporting US teen sensations Jonas Brothers on part of their American tour from August 24 - just in time for the release of the twins' second album Hook Me Up in the US two days later.

  Grrr.. why is she calling herself vegetarian if she eats seafood? seafood is not a vegetable, thus she isnt vegetarian. why do people classify seafood as vegetables? it isnt like a carrot floating on the water. I am vegetarain and eat NO meat at all, which is what a vegetarian does. and as for the weight loss, if u are eating properly you dont lose heaps of weight. so yea.. hmmm and she ISNT vegetarian if she eats meat

  they have both always been tiny........i met them a couple of days before the anorexic stories started going around......and i knew from the start that they weren't true.........they both looked perfectly fine to me.....

  I think if she wants to eat Seafood than good for her. It's her source of Omega 3 and geting vitamins and minerals naturally than always in a pill is better. I dont think anyone is to judge if she decides to eat seafood- who really cares?
