Pop R&B crooner Jason Derulo has been forced to cancel his entire world tour, including Australia, after he fell and injured his neck.

The star suffered an acute fracture to his vertebrae, an injury which usually causes death or paralysis, while he was practicing for his world tour.

The star expressed his gratitude at his good health on Twitter, saying:

“My injury is called a "Hang Man's Break" because it is the same bone that is broken when someone is hung!”

“I am so blessed to still be here.”

“95% of ppl [sic] with the same injury end up paralyzed or gone. Everything happens for a reason. Traumatic experiences can change you for the better.”

Ticketek released a statement on their Australia site, announcing the news:

“Multi-platinum singer and songwriter Jason Derulo suffered an injury to his neck on Tuesday, January 3rd, and has been forced to cancel all touring and promotional activities, including his April Australian tour dates.

All ticket holders for upcoming shows can obtain a full refund.

All tickets purchased by credit card on-line through Ticketek will be automatically refunded.
Tickets purchased by cash or EFT will be refunded at the point of purchase.

Michael Coppel Presents regret the disappointment for all Jason's Australian fans and look forward to him making a speedy and complete recovery.”
