After just over two months of marriage, Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from basketballer hubby Kris Humphries.

As the news hit in America, Kim has been preparing to fly to Australia.

She has spoken out about the situation, but not given us many clues as to what happened. She says "After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage, I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best."

Sources close to the former couple have said this is all because they can’t decide where to live. Kris wants to settle down in Minnesota (where he's from) and he thought that Kim was on board with the plan. She wasn't. Kim wanted to stay near her family in LA, which is also the best thing for her career.

Another reason for the divorce could be reports that Kim has been seeing her ex, Reggie Bush. It is rumoured that she met up with him on Saturday afternoon.

According to the documents, filed in an LA court today (US time), Kim cited irreconcilable differences and listed their date of separation as October 31, 2011- with their date of marriage, of course, as August 20, 2011.
