Last year Miley Cyrus added to her growing collection of tattoos with a an equals sign which she tweeted a picture of along with the words “All LOVE is equal”.

The tattoo and tweet sparked an epic twitter debate from her devout bible bashing fans.

Miley just penned a piece for Glamour to explain a bit more about her views and why she got the tatt, saying the idea that two people who love each other aren't allowed to get married makes her “sick to her stomach”.

Miley says she was lambasted with comments from people saying "What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!'"

Miley says her response was that "If you were a true Christian you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love."

Miley writes: "I believe every American should be allowed the same rights and civil liberties. Without legalized same-sex marriage, most of the time you cannot share the same health benefits, you are not considered next of kin and you are not granted the same securities as a heterosexual couple. How is this different than having someone sit in the back of the bus because of their skin color?"
