Crikey Aussies Will Blow MILLIONS With Credit Cards This Christmas

Spending on plastic to skyrocket!


 

Aussies are tipped to spend a staggering $4.6 billion on their credit cards this Christmas, with a further $191 million to be forked out for interest.

New South Wales shoppers are expected to stretch the purse strings furthest. with $1.6B on plastic, while Victorians are the next most generous, intending to spend $1.1 billion.

Queensland - $962M

Western Australia - $507M

South Australia - $292M

Marketplace lender SocietyOne surveyed Australians, finding almost a third (32%) of Christmas shoppers admit they rely heavily on credit during the festive period.

The survey also showed many of us now head online, with 80% of Australians believing it's cheaper to buy Christmas presents in advance online compared with buying last minute from bricks and mortar stores.
