NSW Uber Driver Charged With Sexually Assaulting Sydney Woman
A Sydney Uber driver has been charged with sexually assaulting a female while taking her home over the weekend.
The 26-year-old called an Uber from West Pennant Hills at about 11pm on Saturday night.
Police say the driver pulled over in Carlingford and sexually assaulted the passenger before driving her home.
He was charged with sexual intercourse without consent and indecent assault on Tuesday.
Uber says the driver has been removed from the service and that the business is working with authorities. They said in a statement, “our thoughts are with the woman and her family at this time.”
It’s alleged the driver held a Hire Car Driver Authorisation from the Roads and Maritime Services, which includes a criminal check.
