Australian and international music stars were out in full force at the 2012 ARIA Awards held at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.

Gotye cleaned up on the night taking home gongs for Album of the Year, Best Male Artist, Best Pop Release and Best Australian Live Act. The Temper Trap were also big winners taking away the ARIAs for Best Group and Best Rock Album.

For the second year in a row Kimbra took out the Best Female Artist category, while Missy Higgins returned to form picking up the ARIA for Best Contemporary Album release. 360 didn't go home empty handed either, winning the Breakthrough Artist award for 'Falling and Flying'.
Matt Corby was one of the few surprises on the night, winning the publicly voted Song of the Year category for 'Brother'.
The event kicked off after blistering performances by Justice Crew, Timomatic and Jessica Mauboy before the who's who of the music industry made their way up the red carpet.
The biggest screams from fans were for US country superstar Taylor Swift and our very own Ricki-Lee, Guy Sebastian, Havana Brown, Samantha Jade, The Collective, Reece Mastin (with girlfriend Rhiannon Fish), 360, Ruby Rose and Missy Higgins.
