Comedy legend Jerry Seinfeld has filmed an advert for an Australian building society.

The US comic is set to star in a series of commercials for Newcastle's Greater Building Society, including this one featuring a stand up routine.

The ads were co-written by Seinfeld and filmed mainly on location in New York, dressed to look like a typical Newcastle street. It's not often the Big Apple gets to double as an Aussie city!

A spokesperson for the building society said "We thought, why don't we just ask him, he can only say no. We are still pinching ourselves."

  At least they could have filmed the cut in bits somewhere in Newcastle too. If you look at the 30 s mark, you see a pink jewels shop that can be found in Randwick. The Building Society has bee coping flac locally for doing this.
