Geek Speak: The latest from E3! Posted by Zo 7 June, 2011 - 8:57 PM

So if you consider yourself a geek (geeky enough to be worthy of Maude’s company) you would have heard about E3, only the most epic gaming trade show which is on right now at the LA Convention Centre (Maude – cue to froth at the mouth).
All the latest in gaming development is demoed and of course Maude is all over it like a kid in EB games. Check out the latest news and trailers featured on Geek Speak tonight:
Uncharted 3
Only available on Playstation 3, I’m a HUGE fan of these action adventures. This time around we see Drake hit the open seas!
Halo 4
It’s been a while since Halo 3, many of us FPS (First Person Shooter) lovers have since been occupied with other online games in the meantime, so excited to see what Master Chief gets up to this time around!
Mass Effect 3 Gameplay
Due to be released on March 6 2012 (Maude’s birthday! It’s like it knows!) Mass Effect 3 is one of my most anticipated games of the whole of next year. It’s such a deep action RPG (Role-playing Game) that gets me hooked every time. Shepherd’s so badass!
Final Fantasy XIII-2
After putting in 65hrs+ on FFXIII it’s so nice to see this beautiful game back. It’s such a successful game that has spanned over decades and across many platforms. I can see myself getting reeled into the Japanese styled graphics and quirky voice acting! It seems Serah and Lightening are back – and how hot is the new addition NOEL!
So... we want to know - what have you heard from E3 that’s got you most excited?
PRIZE: Copy of Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters on either PS3 or Xbox 360 (2 each to give away, not out until June 29!)
Leave you comments and Maude will pick the best answers!

Modern Warfare 3! It's every man's dream because my body released a rush of adrenaline, my pupils dilated and my heart beat raced. Even though I have exams, there will always be a place in my heart for Activision <3

Let me think... EVERY STINKING TIME THEY SAY DIABLO III IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER. I suppose those waiting for Duke Nukem have more to complain about but c'mon, I just want to play with a horadric cube!

There were a few great games, but Mass Effect 3 wins it for me. I stayed up for the Microsoft conference last night to hear about it (slept through EA, sadface), wasn't all that excited about these voice commands, when suddenly MORDIN, the very model of a scientist salarian, appears! I think my interest in the game went through the roof there. I love that guy!

Also loving what else they showed throughout the day. Was that Shepard using his omni-tool as a sword?
I could rant all day about this, but the other game that had me drooling was Assassin's Creed Revelations. I'm a sucker for that series, it looks fantastic.
Oh man I'm such a geek...the realisation is sinking in. -

Mass Effect 3 looks to redefine RPG's just as Mass Effect 2 did. Too bad the kinect voice controls don't work in Australia :(
