Bert and Patti Newton bravely spoke out about their son Matthew for the first time on ACA last night.
They say they've feared for the mental health of their son for a long time and admit they should have put him into psychiatric care instead of rehab.
They've spoken publicly for the first time since Matt's attack on Rachel Taylor in Rome.
Patti says she told Taylor many times she had to be really careful because her son was sick and needed medication.

Nicky Hilton is going to defend orang-utans this year, if celebrity psychic Georgina Walker is to be believed.
The prediction was revealed to the socialite during an interview with Kyle and Jackie O, as part of her visit to Sydney Fashion Week as ambassador for designer Charlie Brown.
Already sceptical of psychics and the like, Hilton was at pains to link the prediction to her current circumstances.
Frankly, so were we!
