A movie apparently inspired by Kyle and Jackie O has taken out the the top prize at the 2010 Tropfest short film festival.

Abe Forsythe's Shock is about a fictional breakfast host who wakes up crying in the morning as he makes his way to work to join his colleagues "Sarah J" and "S**tstick".

Speaking to Kyle and Jackie O, Forsythe says that he didn't expect to take out both the best comedy and overall prize.

"I was just thrilled to be there on the night and have the film screened, so it was a complete shock to me to get up there twice."

"The message behind my film is, when an event happens and when an event is reported in the media, is to try and think about it from all perspectives and not just the perspective the media is pushing."

Kyle gets a mention in the film's credits.

Watch 'SHOCK' on an encore of Tropfest at 1pm Saturday 27 February on Movie Extra or each night catch one of the 16 Tropfest finalists at 8.15pm from February 22 on the Movie Extra channel on Foxtel.
