Ryan Stuart (Ryzy)
Get to know Ryzy...
Nickname: Ryzy. My real name (Ryan) is just way too boring for radio right? ‘Ryzy’ has stuck though - even my Mum and Dad call me it now.
Position: Assistant Music Director / Announcer
First job: The glamorous life of a shelf-stacker is not for everyone. There’s stuff in a box. You put that stuff on the shelf. You put away the box. You get another box with stuff in it. you then put that stuff on the shelf... It was a short-lived profession for me.
Hobbies: Surfing, snowboarding, skating - you get the theme here? Anything outside, fun and where there is a chance of hurting myself.
Most embarrassing moment: Have you ever had Bali-belly? Have you ever been out on a big night and walked home a girl? Have you ever needed to jump the fence of a construction site you walked past in order to relieve yourself but not make it in time? Has ‘said-girl’ ever ran off and told everyone you know about it haha. Its embarrassing.
Best gig you have ever been to: Falls Festival 2009. 3 days on the beach, 40 degrees, awesome friends, amazing bands and lots of beer.
Favourite Saying: “I don’t know how to put this but I’m kind of a big deal”
In a movie about your life, who would play you: Ed Westwick, or to be specific his character ‘Chuck Bass’ from Gossip Girl (actually pffft I don’t watch Gossip Girl - it’s just always on and I happen to walk past it haha). Why Chuck Bass? Well he’s super rich, lives in the penthouse at the Empire Hotel in Manhattan, he’s a bit of a bad boy and he knows how to rock a killer suit and bow-tie. I am a fan of the bow-tie.
Best Dance Move: For some weird reason, after I’ve had a couple you will see me on the dance floor doing push ups! Don’t ask me why because I don’t know.
More About Me...
I’ve completed a four year health science degree – or as I like to call it a waste of 25 grand, but radio is my home. I love it – where else can you hang out with your mates, play music too loudly and wear jeans and a t-shirt to work (or on Friday’s no pants at all!). Oh and I almost forgot, on Nov 27 2010 I got married to my beautiful girl, Lucy. I wore a suit and bow-tie (like Chuck Bass haha).
