The Bod That Won Over The Universe Posted by Maddison Carter 16 July, 2009 - 2:52 PM
(Getty Images)A true blue Aussie icon, Jennifer Hawkins is one of the hottest stars in showbiz. With a Miss Universe title under her belt, Jen has certainly proven that she has the bod that every lady dreams of. But, the rising tv star says keeping a figure like hers isn’t as easy as clicking your fingers.
Hawkins' says she works her butt off to get into shape for her hectic on screen/catwalk life. 'I can't ever stop exercising! In my job I could get the call anytime: "You're going to Spain and will have to wear a bikini." It can be the middle of winter in Australia, but I have to be on top of it.' She reveals.
Jen’s secret is simple: good food and lots of exercise. She sticks to a diet high in lean protein, so lots of chicken and fish. During the day Jen snacks on fruit. Here’s an example of a week into the food and exercise diary of the former Miss Universe:
Breakfast: Oatmeal with skimmed milk or two slices of rye bread. One banana
Snack: Banana or a handful of dried cranberries and blueberries
Lunch: Chicken salad or a tuna salad with a handful of cashew nuts.
Dinner: Seared tuna steak, steamed vegetables and a cup of brown rice or Tofu stir-fry with egg noodles
Workouts:
- 30-minute power walk. Upper body resistance training at the gym, working the biceps, triceps, shoulders and back.
- 45-minute yoga class. Jen's just revamped her workouts to focus on yoga and Pilates. 'Yoga levels me out,' Jen says. 'If I'm stressed, I do that and I'm fine.
- 20-minute jog in the morning followed by lower-body resistance training and abdominal exercises.
If you follow this weight loss plan you’ll be sure to feel and look good in no time at all. It’s a well balanced diet, including protein, carbs and healthy fats. The workouts include a variety of cardio and resistance training, so hence they are also well balanced and perfect for anyone trying to lose weight and tone up. Go for gold with this one, it’s a winner.

That almost looks do-able. It must be hard to always be in perfect shape for Jen - no winter cover-ups for her. But I guess when it's your job and you're getting paid millions of dollars it makes it all worth while.

This is do-able. The key to a healthy, toned body is balance. All you need is to absolutely honestly want to succeed and achieve something. If you are not able to say 'I want to achieve this' to yourself and commit from that moment on to achieving this, with disipline, you wont. You need to feel it in your core and be driven to achieve it in order to actually arive at your goal.
